Founded in 1985, M.A.T Parcel Express started as a dream between father and son-in-law with a vision to meet the growing freight demands of Southern California and Mexico. With just one small pick-up and a single bobtail truck operating from an 1800 sq. ft. office in Miramar, the family venture set out with a motto that “service is all we have to sell.”

Business grew rapidly. As the company added new high-profile customers including Beebas Creations, Boom Club, Quidel, Rohr Industries, Teledyne Ryan, and US Air, the founders remained nimble, purchasing equipment and making decisions to meet market demands while expanding the business.

Opening additional offices in Los Angeles and Imperial Valley by 1990, the founders also recognized the need to offer more specialized services, beyond pick-up and delivery transportation services. Expanding operations to include warehousing, distribution, cross border and Maquiladora services, G.O.H. transfers, and hazardous material transport, demanded a move to their current 18,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters just minutes from Interstate 5 and San Diego’s international airport, Lindbergh Field.

The company is proud to be locally family owned and operated to this very day, continuing to instill the original 1985 philosophy that ‘service is all we have to sell’ in the minds of their drivers, employees, and contractors.

We believe in giving back to our community

Our management team is committed in support of local charitable causes. This includes the collection and distribution of school supplies, community walks, annual picnics with money raised donated to local organizations, and more.

We have also participated in Operation Home Front, supplying equipment and drivers for the distribution of $1 million in books for the children of Camp Pendleton.
